There’s no denying that there was a lot of excitement on tonight’s pay-per-view!  We witnessed the WWE Women’s Championship change hands, the return of Big E and Nikki Bella, and historical matches (how exciting was Nikki Bella’s return?  I loved it!)  I enjoyed it and would rate SummerSlam 8/10 with Sasha Banks vs Charlotte for the WWE’s Women’s Championship being match of the evening.  How did you guys enjoy SummerSlam?  Let me know by leaving a comment below!

Eva Marie, Natalya and Alexa Bliss vs Naomi, Carmella and Becky Lynch

Eva Marie has yet to make her highly anticipated debut on Smackdown Live due to various situations that occur prior to her match.  First she sustained an injury, then a wardrobe malfunction, and last night, she was stuck in traffic.  I mean, she can’t help that these things happen!  Most importantly, she made it to Smackdown Live.  Better late than never, right?  This didn’t stop Naomi though from chasing her around the ring; attempting to get her hands on Eva like she was scheduled to earlier in the evening.  Whether numerous interruptions from Eva Marie resulted in this match at SummerSlam, or Shane and Daniel want Eva to finally make her debut, I’m not sure.  Whatever the reason, I have a strong feeling she’ll make sure nothing comes in between this momentous moment in her career.  Joining Eva Marie will be Natalya, who has had beef with Becky Lynch the last few months as well as newcomer Carmella, and the third women on their team is Alexa Bliss.  The opposing team consists of Naomi, Becky Lynch and Carmella.

Tune into SummerSlam this Sunday to see if Eva Marie will grace the WWE Universe with her in-ring presence along with checking out Smackdown Live’s Womens Division!

Match and Guest Star announced for SummerSlam

SummerSlam is now less than a week away!  The hottest event of the year is surely living up to its name just by the card alone, but the General Manager of Monday Night Raw Mick Foley decided to add some more action to it, making it sizzle just a little more.

Cesaro vs Sheamus in a “Best of Seven Series”

The animosity between the Swiss Superman and Celtic Warrior has been increasing with each passing Raw.  Both gentlemen feel they are superior to each other and deserve Championship opportunities.  Cesaro has defeated each opponent which even earned him a title shot at the United States Championship against Rusev, which he lost the match.  Sheamus however, has not been fortunate when it comes to the outcome of his matches as he has lost them all.  The hostility between these two men has boiled over to the point where referees stepped in to prevent them from further attacking one another.  Mick Foley understandably had enough of this constant bickering, sudden attacks and match interruptions that Mick Foley declared a match between the two at SummerSlam.  This match however is the first match in a “Best of Seven Series” that will determine which of the two are more dominant, more superior and the one that truly deserves an opportunity at a Championship match.  Will Cesaro continue his reign or will he fall victim to the Sheamus’ brutalizing Brogue Kick or White Noise?  Watch how it all unfolds starting this Sunday!

John Stewart returns to SummerSlam

Mick Foley informed Stephanie that the former host of The Daily Show John Stewart will be returning to SummerSlam this Sunday.  John hosted the event last year and even had power over decision-making for one of the matches, but his role this upcoming Sunday is undetermined as of now.  Tune into to see what place John has in this year’s SummerSlam this upcoming Sunday.

SummerSlam airs this Sunday, August 21st at 7pm ET only on the WWE Network!

More matches announced for SummerSlam

summerslamCan you believe SummerSlam is only two weeks away?!  Where has the time gone?!  The WWE Universe learned of three more matches created for the hottest event of the summer and two of them our title matches!  Let’s take a look at newest matches added to the SummerSlam card.

Enzo Amore and Big Cass vs Chris Jericho and Kevin Owen

This feud between Chris Jericho and the bonafide studs began last week when Jericho interrupted Enzo putting the moves on Sasha Banks. That same night, Big Cass got involved when Jericho continued the beating on Enzo Amore after their intergender tag team match.  Jericho didn’t like the fact that he was outnumbered but learned someone had his back; someone who is the most unlikely person to ever have anyone’s back but his own: Kevin Owens.  Since the numbers were now even, Owens and Big Cass watched ringside as their tag team partners faced each other in singles action last night.  Due to interference from Kevin Owens, the match ended in disqualification and Big Cass injected himself into the ring.  Enzo and Big Cass issued a challenge for a tag team match at SummerSlam which Jericho and Owens accepted without hesitation.

Rusev (c) vs Roman Reigns for the United States Championship

Roman Reigns made himself known when he came out after Rusev’s title match against Mark Henry. Roman did the same thing again this week not only offering to be Rusev’s best man during he and Lana’s wedding celebration but to compete at SummerSlam for the United States Championship.  Rusev declined both and a fight ensued, which resulted in Lana planting face first in her own wedding cake.  Rusev flipped out at Mick Foley backstage, who informed him that a championship match between himself and Roman Reigns would indeed be happening at SummerSlam, which only added to Rusev’s fury.

The New Day’s Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods (c) vs The Club’s Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson for the Tag Team Championship

These two unique yet incredibly different tag teams have had multiple encounters since Gallows and Anderson made their WWE debut in April, but the heat between them ignited when The Club injured Big E last week on Monday Night Raw. It became personal for Kingston and Woods and where better to avenge their friend’s injury than at SummerSlam?  Whether it was their choice to put their titles on the line is unknown, but it looks like it is going to happen regardless.

I think these are great match ups with the exception of Enzo and Big Cass vs Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens. It was as if McMahon and Foley created this tag team match because these Superstars are popular with the WWE Universe and know we’ll want to see them.  Although that may be true, I feel a stronger, more solid storyline could have been built behind them.  Maybe that will occur the closer we get to SummerSlam.

More matches announced for SummerSlam will be updated once they are made known to the public.

Intercontinental Championship title match announced for SummerSlam

summerslamLast night on Smackdown Live!, The WWE Universe witnessed a Triple Threat Match to determine the Number One Contender for the Intercontinental Championship.  Kalisto, Baron Corbin and Apollo Crews fought for the chance at Intercontinental gold, and I am happy to say it was Apollo Crews who picked up the victory!  Apollo Crews will now face The Miz at SummerSlam for the Intercontinental Championship!

Will Crews win his first Championship in WWE? Or will The Miz continue his title reign as Intercontinental Champion?  Tune into SummerSlam on Sunday, August 21st at 7pm ET to find out!

Womens match announced for SummerSlam

SummerSlam2016It was announced on last night’s Monday Night Raw that Sasha Banks will defend her Women’s Championship against Charlotte, which comes as no surprise since Charlotte is technically entitled to a rematch.

Aside from this scheduled match, SummerSlam has already confirmed the following matches will take place:

Randy Orton vs Brock Lesnar

Seth Rollins vs Finn Balor for the WWE Universal Championship

Dean Ambrose (c)  vs Dolph Ziggler for the WWE World Championship

More updates on the upcoming SummerSlam pay-per-view will be provided here at www.wwebloggingbetty.com once WWE makes them known to the public.
