TLC 2016 Pay-Per-View Results

Here are the results from tonight’s action-packed TLC pay-per-view:

wwetlc2016

Kickoff Show: Apollo Crews, The American Alphas and The Hype Bros vs Curt Hawkins, The Vaudevillians and The Ascension in a 10 Man Tag Team Match

Winner: Apollo Crews, The American Alphas and The Hype Bros

Heath Slater and Rhyno (c) vs The Wyatt Family (Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton) for the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship

Winner: Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton

Shortly after their victory, Bray Wyatt placed his belt on Luke Harper’s left shoulder.  Randy Orton and Luke Harper stared at each other intensely, as their has been some friction between the two, but Randy showed his respect by placing his belt on Luke’s right shoulder.

Nikki Bella vs Carmella in a No Disqualification Match

Winner: Nikki Bella

After the match, Carmella gets on the mic and tells Nikki that score isn’t even near settled from Survivor Series and that she wasn’t the one who attacked her.  Carmella informed Nikki and the WWE Universe that she knows who did and it was Nikki’s friend, Natalya.

The Miz (with Maryse) (c) vs Dolph Ziggler in a Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship

Winner: The Miz

The Miz dedicates his victory to Smackdown Live’s General Manager Daniel Bryan.

Kalisto vs Baron Corbin in a Chair Match

Winner: Baron Corbin

Natalya address Carmella’s accusation that she attacked Nikki Bella at Survivor Series as “absurd”.  When asked why Carmella would lie, Natalya replied, obviously annoyed, it is because Carmella is a liar, and walked away.

Becky Lynch (c) vs Alexa Bliss in a Tables Match for the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship

Winner: Alexa Bliss

AJ Styles (c) vs Dean Ambrose in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match for the WWE World Championship

Winner: AJ Styles

James Ellsworth turns heel by pushing the ladder which Dean Ambrose was on top of.

Who else loved this pay-per-view?  I was completely engrossed with all the matches and as the show progressed, the matches got better.  I would rate this pay-per-view a 9 out of 10; although this is one of WWE’s best pay-per-view (if not the best one) this year, the 10 Man Tag Team Match is what prevented this from being a 10/10 rating.  There is no doubt in my eyes that The Miz vs Dolph Ziggler in a Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship was the best match of the night.  Although we had a Chairs Match, a Tables Match and a Tables, Ladders AND Chairs match, their match was undeniably the most physical.  They pushed their bodies beyond their limit while filled with passion and determination to become or retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship.  Clearly, the better man won.  Congratulations, Miz.  This was truly one of your best matches and certainly a well-deserved victory.

Addressing Absence // TLC 2016 Pay-Per-View Predictions

Before I begin discussing my predictions for tonight’s pay-per-view, I wanted to address my absence for the past two months.  I apologize for not keeping wwebloggingbetty.com updated for this period of time.  When I wasn’t writing, I thought about writing, promoting and networking my blog but most importantly, interacting with each and everyone of you.  The only way to describe my reason for my absence is I get into my own head and I pull myself in different directions.  I knew it would lead me back to blogging, it’s what I am passionate about and love doing.  I intend for this to never happen again and I hope I haven’t lost you as my readers.  You are way too valuable to me, more than you realize.  I apologize for any inconvenience my absence may have caused.

Alright, now let’s move onto tonight’s TLC pay-per-view predictions!

What better way to continue the celebration of my 31st birthday than with a WWE pay-per-view?!  Last night (which was my birthday), I celebrated by attending a WWE Live event watching the Smackdown Live roster put on a killer show and tonight, I’ll see the Monday Night Raw roster do the same.  Let’s take a look at tonight’s card for Clash of Champions and my predictions on how this show will unfold.

Tag Team title match announced for No Mercy

With the WWE Championship and Smackdown’s Women’s Championship matches already scheduled for No Mercy, another title match was set into place for Smackdown Live’s upcoming pay-per-view.

nomercy

History repeated itself as The Usos met The American Alphas in the squared circle for an opportunity at the Tag Team titles. No smiles, handshakes, or respect were given by any member of each opposing team, as The American Alphas had a score to settle after their last encounter with The Usos.  Although Gable did well for himself in the ring after sustaining a knee injury courtesy of the brotherly duo, Jimmy and Jey focused on inflicting pain on that knee.  It worked and The Usos will once again face Heath Slater and Rhyno at No Mercy for the Smackdown Tag Team Championship.

I think it was too soon for Chad Gable to return to action. Shane McMahon had announced on Talking Smack shortly after Gable was injured that he would be out of action for 2-4 weeks.  Two weeks has certainly passed since then, but after what the WWE Universe witnessed last night, Gable is not ready to compete.  It’s too soon.  He needs to take the full, necessary amount of time to fully recuperate and heal, then come after The Usos and the Tag Team Championship.

Stay tuned for more announcements on the No Mercy pay-per-view.

More matches announced for Clash of Champions

Clash of Champions is only six days away and General Manager Mick Foley continues to alter and add to Monday Night Raws first pay-per-view since the brand drafts occurred in July.  Here are the updated matches announced for Clash of Champions as of last night.

Rusev (c) vs Roman Reigns for the United States Championship

romanrusev

These two have been at each other’s throats for over two months now which began weeks prior to SummerSlam.  Rusev and Reigns had a non-title match (and what one hell of a match it was!) on Monday Night Raw days before SummerSlam which Roman picked up the victory, but SummerSlam did not play out the same way for the former WWE Champion.  Due to Rusev sustaining an injury prior to their match at Summerslam officially starting, the title match never occurred.  I was wondering when these two would have a rematch, but with Roman’s name entered into the WWE Universal Championship picture, I thought maybe it was a thing of the past.  I was wrong, as Rusev intervened in Roman’s qualifying match last week on Monday Night Raw, costing him an opportunity at the coveted WWE Universal title.  Mick knew he had to make things right with Roman, so last night on Raw, he scheduled a rematch for Roman Reigns to take on Rusev at Clash of Champions for the United States Championship.

Charlotte (c) vs Sasha Banks vs Bayley in a Triple Threat Match for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship

womenstriplethreat

Last week on Monday Night Raw, Sasha Banks, Bayley and Dana Brooke competed for the opportunity to take on Charlotte at Clash of Champions for the Women’s Championship.  It looked as if Bayley had it in the bag, until Sasha rolled Bayley up for the pin and to become the #1 Contender.  The Women’s Champion and her protégé Dana Brooke watched that match back and noticed that while Bayley’s shoulders were down, so were Sasha’s.  They addressed this to Mick and Mick decided, unknowingly to Dana Brooke who ignited this idea, that the Women’s match at Clash of Champions will now be a Triple Threat Match.  That’s right; Charlotte will not only face Sasha Bank this Sunday, but Bayley as well for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship.

Brian Kenderick vs TJ Perkins (c) for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship

perkinskendrick

The Cruiserweight Division made its debut last night on Monday Night Raw, with four of the division members competing for an opportunity to face TJ Perkins for the Cruiserweight Championship.  These men consisted of Rich Swann, Gran Metalik, Cedric Alexander and Brian Kenderick.  Although a rematch between Gran Metalik and Perkins would have been amazing, Brian Kenderick defeated these three men in order to compete for the Cruiserweight Championship.  Perkins and Kenderick have never met in the squared circle during the Cruiserweight Classic Tournament, so to see their first encounter at Clash of Champions is going to be so exciting!

Nia Jax vs Alicia Fox

niaalicia

Two member of Raw’s Women Division, Nia Jax and Alicia Fox, will be kicking off the pay-per-view this Sunday.  Their feud, although still fairly new, is fierce.  Their only encounter in the ring on last week’s Monday Night Raw was vicious and resulted in Nia bulldozing Alicia through the ringside barricade.  Will the same disasterous fate find Alicia Fox again?  Or will she prevail against the dominant, undefeated force that is Nia Jax?

This question and more will be answered by tuning into Clash of Champions this Sunday, September 25th at 8pm ET only on the WWE Network!

Battleground 2016 Pay-Per-View Results

Here the results from tonight’s Battleground pay-per-view.

battleground

Pre-show: The Usos vs Breezango

Winner: Breezango

Sasha Banks and TBA vs Charlotte and Dana Brooke

Winner: Sasha Banks and mystery tag team partner, who was revealed to be Bayley

The New Day’s Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods vs The Wyatt Family’s Bray Wyatt, Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman

Winner: The Wyatt Family

Rusev (c) (with Lana) vs Zack Ryder for the United States Championship

Winner: Rusev

As Rusev continued the violent beating on Zack Ryder, Mojo Rawley came out to his tag team partner’s defense.  Rusev seemed to be overwhelmed by Mojo’s overly “hyped” personality that he exited the ring.

Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens

Winner: Sami Zayn

As Sami bumps his rear end off the top rope in order to flip onto Kevin Owens who was standing ringside, his flip went wrong and he landed on the shoulder he had injured May of 2015.  Clearly, you could see Sami was in a great deal of pain but pushed through it like a true professional.

Becky Lynch vs Natalya

Winner: Natalya

The Miz (c) (with Maryse) vs Darren Young (with Bob Backlund) for the Intercontinental Championship

Winner: The Miz

The Miz tries to leave the arena when Bob Backlund gets in his way.  As Bob moves forward, The Miz moves back and Darren Young grabs Miz by the hair and puts him back into the ring.  Maryse slaps Bob Backlund ringside, falls and tells the referee and Miz that Bob hit her.  The Miz leaves the ring and makes his way straight to Bob, who removed his shirt, and The Miz pushes him.  Darren Young leaves the ring, puts The Miz in the Crossface Chickenwing and the referee orders the bell be rung.  Due to it being a draw, The Miz continues his reign as Intercontinental Champion.

John Cena, Enzo Amore and Big Cass vs The Club’s AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson

Winner: John Cena, Enzo Amore and Big Cass

Randy Orton on Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel

Randy Orton received a very welcoming return from The WWE Universe after recovering from an injury for nine months. As told on Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel, as much as he enjoyed spending time with his wife and children, he missed the feelings walking through the ramp, down the curtain, and The WWE Universe gave him.  Some jabs and jokes were made between Jericho and Orton which was followed by Jericho getting down to business to discuss Orton’s match with Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. After the gentlemen watched a vignette to refresh Orton’s memory about The Beast Incarnate, Orton said it only takes one RKO to take Brock to Viperville with no enhancement needed.  Talk about a low blow!  I do have to agree with Jericho when he said Brock will make Orton pay for that comment.  We know it’s coming.  After Jericho joked about when he would be receiving a RKO outta nowhere, it did indeed happen just moments later.

Dean Ambrose (c) vs Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins in a Triple Threat Match for the WWE Championship

Winner: Dean Ambrose

Guys, this was seriously one of the best pay-per-views WWE has had in months!  I loved it.  I rate it  9 out of 10 and I couldn’t even begin to choose a match of the evening; there were so many that had me entertained.  Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens as well as The Miz vs Darren Young for the Intercontinental Championship have it tied for the #1 spot.  As different as those matches were, they both had me incredibly entertained.  If you didn’t have the opportunity to watch Battleground live as it aired, be sure to catch the rerun on The WWE Network.

Also, I did not forget about the return of Randy Orton on Jericho’s Highlight Reel.  I was recording Randy’s return on my phone for my bestie since he couldn’t come over and watch it so I have to go back, rewatch it and take notes, then add it into this blog post. *UPDATED 07/25/16 at 9:28AM*

What were your thoughts on tonight’s pay-per-view and the return of “The Viper” Randy Orton?  Please let me know by leaving a comment below!  I look forward to reading them!
