The Best of Seven Series Continues

Sheamus and Cesaro met again last night as Match #6 in The Best of Seven Series took place last night on Monday Night Raw.  Sheamus came in with three victories under his belt while Cesaro had two.  Cesaro has continued to pick up momentum within the last two matches and did so again last night, making the Seven Series tied at three to three.

Who will become victorious in the final Best of Seven Series Match? Stay tuned to either Clash of Champions (which it has not been announced this will take place, but it could possibly be) or Monday Night Raw to find out!

Best of Seven Series Continues (Match #3)

Although Cesaro had sustained an injury to his spine last week on Monday Night Raw, that didn’t stop him from continuing the Best of Seven Series match with Sheamus.

Sheamus made sure to focus on Cesaro’s back to gain yet another victory this week, which his game plan was certainly successful.  The score is now Sheamus – 3, Cesaro – 0.

My boyfriend’s prediction is that Cesaro will win the next three matches and the 7th will go either way.  Do you agree or disagree?  Let me know by leaving a comment below!

Stay tuned to next week’s Monday Night Raw as the Best of Seven Series rolls on!

The Best of Seven Series // Cesaro sustains injury

sheamuscesaro.jpgSheamus and Cesaro met once again in the ring for the second match in The Best of Seven Series.  Sheamus went into this match with one victory he earned at SummerSlam and successfully secured another victory on Monday Night Raw.  The score is now Sheamus 2, Cesaro 0.

During that match, Cesaro received multiple bruises on his lumbar spine.  It was when Sheamus backdropped Cesaro on the turnbuckle into a Cloverleaf that Cesaro was injured.

No other information about Cesaro’s injury (time out, severity, etc.) has been provided at this time, but I will certainly update you all as soon as it becomes available.

Monday Night Raw crowns a new Universal Champion

Last night, history was made on Monday Night Raw as a new Universal Champion was crowned.  How this new Champion was crowned was unexpected and controversial.

It was announced during Monday Night Raw that the Fatal 4Way would become an Elimination match where the Champion could win by either pinfall or submission.  The match was going splendidly; everyone involved was putting on the quality show we all anticipated to see and everyone was fighting clean…until someone unexpectedly interjected themselves into the match.  Five or ten minutes after Seth Rollins eliminated Big Cass, Triple H surprised everyone by hitting Roman Reigns with a Pedigree outside of the ring.  Triple H picked up Roman Reigns and rolled him into the ring along with Seth Rollins who successfully pinned and eliminated Roman Reigns.  At this time, Triple H picked up Kevin Owens, rolled him into the ring and accompanied the two remaining competitors.  As Kevin Owens slouched in the corner of the ring, Triple H slowly approached him with Seth Rollins right behind him, grinning as he knew what was coming to Kevin Owens.  Shockingly to everyone, Seth Rollins was wrong and he was the one to take a Pedigree from Triple H!  As Seth laid lifeless in the ring, Triple H and Kevin Owens stared at each other; Triple H with instruction and Kevin Owens with astonishment.  Kevin Owens followed Triple H’s instructive stare, pinning Seth Rollins to become WWE’s new Universal Championship.  After Triple H presented Owens with the belt and held his hand in victory, he exited the arena as General Manager Mick Foley and his wife Stephanie looked on completely flabbergasted.  The show ended with Kevin Owens celebrating as the WWE Universe chanted “You deserve it!”

Now, I have mixed emotions with how this match played out. Kevin Owens was who I was rooting for to become our new Universal Champion, so I’m thrilled about that.  What I was not thrilled about is how he became Champion.  As big of a fan as I am of The Cerebral Assassin, I didn’t like the huge part he played in this match.  I understand moments of interference have played a significant part in historic moments within WWE, but I was hoping for a clean cut match between all four men.  The outcome is what I wanted so I have no room to complain, I’m just disappointed.

Raw (After SummerSlam) Recap

I’m always curious to see how the Monday Night Raw after a pay-per-view plays out.  Will there be excitement, a debut or any major announcements? Monday Night Raw certainly delivered all of the above last night.  So much so, that I felt like I should have prepared myself with a box of tissues and a pint of chocolate ice cream.  What can I say?  I’m undeniably invested in WWE and members of their roster.  The way Raw kicked off last night, I know I’m not the only one who shed a few tears.

universalchampionshipFinn Balor had the match of his career Sunday night. After working in the industry for 16 years, “The Demon King” became a WWE Champion.  Not only that, but he made history at SummerSlam.  Finn Balor is the first WWE Superstar to win an inaugural Championship on his pay-per-view debut.  His victory was just “too sweet” and every wrestling fan couldn’t have been more proud of him.  Unfortunately, reality set in just hours into his victory.  Balor sustained a shoulder injury while competing against Seth Rollins in their Championship match.  His shoulder popped out which he immediately popped back in but the damage had already been done; it’s possible Finn will need surgery followed by the necessary time to recover which is reported to be six months.  As a result, the newly crowned WWE Universal Champion had to relinquish the title. Before handing the title over to General Manager Mick Foley, Finn thanked WWE, the locker room, Seth Rollins for giving him the match of his life, and us – the WWE Universe.  Finn promised us with such conviction that he would be coming after the Universal Championship as soon as he was medically cleared to compete.

fatal4wayWith the WWE Universal Championship being newly vacant, practically half of the male roster came out wanting an opportunity at the title. The situation began getting out of hand so Stephanie and Mick put a stop to it real quick.  The resolution being there would be a series of matches to take place that night and whoever won their prospective match would move on to a Fatal 4Way match next week to determine the new WWE Universal Championship.  The matches consisted of Seth Rollins vs Sami Zayn, Adrian Neville vs Kevin Owens, Rusev vs Big Cass and Chris Jericho vs Roman Reigns.  The four gentlemen that won their matches and will be advancing to the Fatal 4Way are Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Big Cass, and Roman Reigns.  Next Monday, one of these men will be crowned our new WWE Universal Champion!

bayleyrawdebutSpeaking of Champions, our new Women’s Champion Charlotte came out to boast about her victory against “The Boss”, Sasha Banks. Right about the time Charlotte and Dana Brooke were about to leave the ring, General Manager Mick Foley wanted to introduce these ladies – and the WWE Universe – the new, hottest free agent that he and Stephanie signed to Raw’s Women Division.  The newest (and excellent) addition to the roster came in the form of the most notorious hugger in WWE history, Bayley!  The fans immediately welcomed her with open arms and were just as thrilled as she was to see her on Monday Night Raw.  She had her debut match against Charlotte’s protégé’, Dana Brooke and was successful in picking up the win.  This is only the start of amazing things to come for Bayley and I couldn’t be more thrilled for her!  She truly deserves all of this success and more.

thedudleyboyzOf course, I chose to end this Raw recap on a sad note but it deserved to be saved for last.  The Dudley Boyz announced that on Twitter that a year after their return to WWE, they would be leaving.  It wasn’t your typical departure; these men were retiring after an amazing career in professional wrestling.  Bubba Ray Dudley, who is a brutal being, gave the WWE Universe a heads up that he may get emotional.  Bubba reflected on his last year with WWE; they arrived, they kicked some ass, they had some high moments and some low moments.  We loved them and we hated them, but deep down he knew that we respected them.   D-Von took an opportunity to address the WWE Universe as well, saying he spent 20 years up and down the highway with Bubba Ray creating history; history like the legendary TLC match that fans talk about to this day being one of the best matches of all time.  D-Von reflected about the history that he made with fellow tag teams Edge and Christian as well as The Hardy Boyz.  The WWE is his home and always will be and if it weren’t for the WWE Universe, there would be no Dudley Boyz.  At that time, Bubba Ray wanted everyone to give themselves a round of applause since they always applaud them.  Bubba Ray ended this farewell saying, “In this business and in this industry, you don’t get to go out on your own terms. Even though things didn’t go perfectly for us this year, being able to say goodbye to our hardcore brothers and sisters in our own backyard, this is our own terms.  Thank you very, very, very much!”  Of course, D-Von had to appropriately end it with “Oh my brother, TESTIFY!” It was sad to see them go but at least they busted out some classic maneuvers on The Shining Stars prior to Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson beating them down.  Maybe they’ll have one more match to invoke revenge on Gallows and Anderson before they officially close the book on their professional wrestling career.  One can only hope!

So do you see why I should have been stuffing my face with ice cream as my tears fell into it!? Monday Night Raw was like an emotional roller coaster ride; I was sad, happy, content then sad again.  I can’t handle it!  I did however handle all of the entertainment value Raw gave us last night and I look forward it continuing next week when we see a new WWE Universal Champion crowned!

Big E injured during match on Monday Night Raw reported that Tag Team Champion and member of The New Day Big E has sustained an injury after his match with The Club’s Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson on Monday Night Raw. released the following statement.

“WWE Tag Team Champion Big E suffered an injury at the hands of Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson following their match on Raw, can confirm.

After Gallows & Anderson pulled Big E groin-first into the turnbuckle at the end of a post-match brawl between Gallows, Anderson and the entirety of The New Day, the WWE Tag Team Champion was taken to the trainer’s room. He underwent several tests and medical examinations, but WWE officials did not confirm the specifics or severity of Big E’s injury at this time.

Stay with for more information as Big E’s condition is revealed.”

Sending my love and prayers Big E’s way!  When WWE releases any updates on Big E’s condition, I will certainly relay the information.

A new member added to Monday Night Raw’s roster

“The New Era” in Monday Night Raw continued to live up to the excitement and surprises as we saw the return of a WWE Superstar.

Heath Slater was in the middle of the ring preaching to the fans, Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley as to how he is the hottest free agent in professional wrestling. We saw this stunt on last week’s Smackdown Live! but the only difference this time was he wasn’t alone.  His former tag team partner in 3MB, Jinder Mahal was standing next to him.  As Slater continued to state his case as to why he and Jinder Mahal should be signed, General Manager Mick Foley came out to announce a match between the two to determine who will be the newest addition to the Raw roster.  As Heath argued with Mick that he wouldn’t be able to put a wedge between the two of them, Mahal clearly felt differently.  Once Heath turned around, Mahal hit him with a huge kick to the face, knocking Heath down for the pin and the win.  Jinder Mahal is now a member of the Monday Night Raw roster.

Forgotten during the draft picks, gored by Rhyno last week on Smackdown Live! and now betrayed by his former tag team partner.  Poor Heath can’t catch a break!

I personally could care less about the return of Jinder Mahal.  I didn’t like him when he was in 3MB, I wasn’t sadden or shocked when he was released from WWE in 2012 and I’m not excited that he has returned.  I feel the spot could have been used to bring someone up from NXT or bring back a more popular Superstar.  We’ll see how WWE uses him and if this time, it will make more of a lasting impression on me.
