For Brock Lesnar fans (myself included), last night was incredibly exciting. We haven’t seen The Beast Incarnate in action since his match at Wrestlemania in April, where he successfully defeated Dean Ambrose. For UFC fans, this was a real treat as Brock hasn’t stepped in the Octagon since 2011. Brock knew that UFC 200 was the perfect time to return and who better to go up against than “The Samoan Superman” Mark Hunt.
Brock Lesnar made his way to the Octagon to Metallica’s “Enter Sandman”. Lesnar and Hunt had a successful three rounds before the judges unanimously awarded Brock Lesnar the winner of the match with a 29-27 score. After Lesnar and Hunt shook hands and hugged, UFC commentator and interviewer Joe Rogan approached the victorious Lesnar to discuss his match.
Lesnar, who usually doesn’t talk much in WWE, was at a loss for words for his return and triumphant match. He was just so happy and so thankful to be there and wanted to acknowledge the men in uniform who protect and serve our country. He ended the interview by saying “From one white boy to all nationalities, we got to stand together.” His wife Sable had joined him in the ring to give him a sweet kiss and held hands as they exited the Octagon.
Congratulations Brock on a job well done! Whether we’ll see more of Brock in the Octagon is unknown at this time, but I’m sure Brock and/or Dana White will make that announcement if it does happen. This was my first time watching Brock outside of WWE and thoroughly enjoyed it. I hope I get to see more of Brock in UFC!
