WWE Superstar of the Month (June 2016)

Each time the camera lights go on, one star shines brighter among the rest. This individual is victorious, constantly showing themselves and the WWE Universe they are deemed worthy of air time, our time and our hearts (or hatred for our beloved heels).   Each month, this particular person will be awarded WWE Superstar of the Month and for the month of June, this title goes to Seth Rollins.sethrollins

Seth made his exciting return to action at Extreme Rules, where he blindsided Roman Reigns with a Pedigree moments after Reigns retained the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against AJ Styles.  This highly anticipated return came after six months out being out of action.  As well all know, Seth tore his ACL, MCL and medial meniscus in his knee while attempting a Sunset Flip Powerbomb on Kane.  This occurred during a WWE Live event in November of 2015.  This injury led to surgery and anywhere from six to nine months of recovery, forcing Seth to vacate his reign as WWE’s World Heavyweight Championship at 220 days.  The WWE Universe got to witness what Seth endured during his six months of recovery through the WWE special “Redesign, Rebuild, Reclaim” which aired on the WWE Network on Monday, May 30th immediately following Monday Night Raw.  For me personally, it was very inspiring to see how The Architect became who he is today and of course, the frustrations he encountered during his road to recovery.  He certainly redesigned and rebuilt himself during that six months and all that was left for him to do was reclaim.  This would occur during the main event at Money in the Bank where he did exactly what he said he would do and retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.  Of course, we all know that reign wouldn’t last long with Dean Ambrose cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase and became our new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.  Now, Seth Rollins is a part of the exciting main event match taking place at Battleground in July which is a Triple Threat Match against Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Even with this slight upset in his plan to become – and stay – WWE World Heavyweight Championship, this past month has certainly been successful for Seth, earning the title of June’s Superstar of the Month.  I know there will plenty more months ahead where not only will he be making history but achieving every single goal he has in his sight.
