As we all know, Smackdown will be moving to a new night on Tuesday, July 19th not to mention going live on television! This has resulted in a brand division, where the draft of our beloved WWE Superstars will be taking place that same night. With these brands airing back-to-back, they will be competing with one another for television ratings, pay-per-views and live events.
WWE’s Executive Producer Kevin Dunn stated, “This is an exciting new era for WWE in which we will yet again reinvent ourselves by creating a second night of compelling live television.” Chris McCumber, who is the President of Entertainment Networks and NBC Universal Cable Entertainment added, “We’re already hearing the excitement among the WWE fans for Smackdown’s new live format, and our audiences are eagerly anticipating the live Draft and what it means for their favorite Superstars.”
